You have a CMMC requirement: You have a contract or bid that requires CMMC Level 2 compliance.
-
You need a defensible estimate: You need a realistic number to present to your board or leadership before committing budget.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Is the CMMC Compliance Calculator really free?
Yes. No credit card, no trial. BEMO publishes the CMMC Cost Calculator because most contractors who use it come back when they need hands-on help implementing the 110 NIST 800-171 controls.
-
How accurate is the estimate?
The on-page baseline is a range based on 3 inputs (number of employees in scope, Microsoft environment and help desk needs). The full report tightens the range by including line-item benchmarks from live BEMO engagements. For a firm quote, book a meeting with sales
-
Does the calculator work for CMMC Level 1 and Level 2?
No. This calculator is specific for CMMC Level 2 costs. Level 1 covers 15 requirements and annual self-attestation. Level 2 covers 110 requirements aligned with NIST SP 800-171.
-
Do I need to move to Microsoft 365 GCC High?
If you handle CUI, yes, for most cases. Commercial Microsoft 365 supports Level 1 but does not qualify for CUI handling under Level 2 or Level 3. GCC supports Level 2 and Level 3 for most contractors, and GCC High is required for ITAR, nuclear, and specific CUI categories.
-
Is the CMMC cost still relevant during the Department of War review of third-party audits?
Yes. The Department of War suspended Phase 2 third-party C3PAO assessments in July 2026 for a 60-day review. DFARS 252.204-7012, NIST SP 800-171, self-assessment, and SPRS score obligations are still in force today, and the Department of Justice is still pursuing False Claims Act cases tied to inflated SPRS scores.
-
What if I need help with CMMC after using the calculator?
A real person on BEMO's compliance team will answer. If you want a scoped engagement, we can provide a quote, but the calculator stands on its own.
-
How does BEMO's pricing compare to hiring a compliance person in-house?
BEMO's Managed Compliance service starts at around $ 4,800 per month for a 30-employee firm, or about $ 57,600 per year. A single in-house compliance hire runs 84,000 to 132,000 dollars in salary alone, plus 3 months to hire and 3 months to onboard, plus tooling. The full report includes a side-by-side comparison.
-
How Much Does CMMC Certification Cost?
The answer depends on more than the assessment itself. Your total CMMC compliance cost may include cloud licensing, security tools, remediation, policy development, control implementation, ongoing management, and the CMMC audit cost charged for a third-party assessment. The CMMC calculator estimates these expenses together so you can build a more realistic budget instead of planning only for the final assessment.
