What better way to bring in the New Year than to announce BEMO's first hire of 2022, Ademar Amorim!

Ademar will be joining our Operations Team all the way from Brazil as a Project & Documentation Manager. He will be reporting to Carol and is responsible for establishing one source of truth for implementation steps and documents, performing cybersecurity risk analysis for our clients, monthly reporting, and other project management and operational tasks.

A little bit about Ademar:

Although he hails from Brazil, if Ademar could live anywhere in the world, it'd probably be Lido di Jesolo, Italy. Why? Because he is a huge fan of the small, chill beach city vibes the city offers, and not to mention - he's got a thing for Italian cuisine. When asked about the best meal he's ever had, Ademar had this to say:

"Hands down Quattro Formaggi pasta. Actually, anything that you could put 4 different types of cheese in it."

We're with you there, Ademar!

Despite the huge jump from Brazil to Italy, don't worry. Ademar loves travel and studying new cultures and languages. As a matter of fact, when he was 15, he spent time in the Netherlands as an exchange student and his secret talent is remembering countries' flags and capitals, as well as knowing basic words and phrases from a multitude of different languages.

What does Ademar like to do outside of work? You can probably catch him re-watching The Office (for the 5th time) or working on one of his other biggest passions, art. He is an avid drawer and in fact, has worked as a freelance artist in the past. Currently, he's working on a series of illustrations from some dreams that he and his friend have had.

Pretty cool! You can see a sample of the work he's done below:

Here's some more from a Q&A we had with Ademar:

Who inspires you? My mom and my little sister for distinct reasons. My mom for her hard work throughout her life and everything she accomplished and fought for us. And my sister for reminding me to have joy for the simple things in life.

What was the best concert you ever attended? Easily Maneva, which is my favorite Brazilian band. I also really enjoyed a cover band from The Animals.

If you could be any animal, which would you be? I am fascinated with sea animals (I have 7 of them tattooed), therefore I would definitely pick one of them and my favorite is the Blue-Ringed Octopus.

What’s the last book you read? I believe it was Guerras Hibridas (Hybrid Wars) from Andrew Korybko.

What’s your favorite movie? My favorite movie is Requiem for a Dream because it had the biggest impact for me for many reasons. However, Old Boy (The Korean version) is very close second.

Who would you most like to swap places with for a day? Bong Joon-Ho. I always wanted to be in the mind of a movie director to see how they can picture the whole movie beforehand in their head, and he is my favorite director so...

Which four individuals, living or dead, would you like to eat dinner with the most? This is an insanely hard question; I’ve changed my answer about 3 times. But I believe that 1st Would be definitely Bong Joon-Ho as I said before. The 2nd Should be related to music; therefore, I would pick Charlie Brown. The 3rd would be somebody that I share similar views about the world with, so I would like to have a chat with Angela Davis. And 4th I would choose my partner Riki because I would not want to have this special moment just by myself.

If you were a crayon, what color would you be? Yellow, because it is the color I have the least problems recognizing (I am color blind).

Welcome to the BEMO Team, Ademar! We're thrilled to have you.
